The Institute of Radio Physics and Electronics, University of Calcutta, is conducting a walk-in interview for the recruitment of Junior Research Fellows and a Project Assistant. These positions are part of a research project titled “Application of the University of Calcutta ST Radar for characterizing the normal and severe weather conditions around the northern Bay of Bengal,” funded by the Ministry of Earth Sciences, Government of India. The initial appointment will be for one year, with the possibility of extension based on performance and project funding.

Position

  • Junior Research Fellow (Two positions)
  • Project Assistant (One position)

Eligibility

Junior Research Fellow: M.E./ M.Tech. in Radio Physics and Electronics / Electronics and Communication Engineering / M.Sc. in Atmospheric Science / Physics (specialization in atmospheric science) with First class degree from a recognized University / Institute.

 Project Assistant: B.Tech./ Diploma in Electronics and Communication Engineering / Computer Science and Engineering / Instrumentation.

Minimum Monthly Remuneration

  • Junior Research Fellow: Rs. 37,000 per month + 27% HRA + Rs. 500 Medical allowances. Promotion to Senior Research Fellow is possible after two years based on performance.
  • Project Assistant: Rs. 20,000 per month + 27% HRA + Rs. 500 Medical allowances, with a 15% increment after three years based on satisfactory performance.

Candidates interested in attending the walk-in interview must bring all original testimonials, two sets of complete applications, a complete biodata, a passport-size photograph, and self-attested copies of testimonials. No TA/DA will be provided for attending the interview. Applicants should report by 11:30 AM on the day of the interview.
