Project Details
Project entitled: “Indigenous Knowledge and Traditional Healing Practices among the Chuktia Bhunjia and Kuntia Kondh Communities of Odisha”
Project Director: Professor Amiya Kumar Das, Department of Sociology, Tezpur University, Napaam, Tezpur – 784028, Assam.
Duration: Field Investigator – Initially for a period of three (03) months or until further order, whichever is earlier, which may be extended based on the need of the project and co-terminus with the project. and Research Assistant – Initially for a period of two (02) months or until further order, whichever is earlier, which may be extended based on the need of the project and co-terminus with the project
Eligibility
Field Investigator : Graduate in any Social Science discipline with minimum 55% marks. Preference will be given to candidates with four-year graduation program.
Research Assistant : Postgraduate in Sociology / Social Anthropology / Anthropology or any Social Science discipline with a minimum of 55% marks. Candidates qualified in NET / M.Phil. / Ph.D. will be given preference.
Desirable: Experience in qualitative and quantitative data collection, ethnographic fieldwork and data entry/analysis using SPSS / Excel / NVivo. Working knowledge of Odia and/or familiarity with the tribal (PVTG) communities of Odisha will be an added advantage. .
Minimum Monthly Remuneration
- Field Investigator – ₹20,000 (Rupees Twenty Thousand only) per month (consolidated).
- Research Assistant – ₹37,000 (Rupees Thirty-Seven Thousand only) per month (consolidated), as per ICSSR norms.

Shortlisted candidates are required to appear before the interview board in offline or in online (as special case) mode along with all original and TWO sets of self-attested photocopies of mark sheets, certificates from 10th standard onwards, caste certificate (if applicable), experience certificate (if any), certificate of NET/GATE or similar examination qualifications (if applicable), any other testimonials, copy of recent signed Curriculum Vitae (CV) and duly filled in application in Annexure-I. Original documents of the candidates will be verified by the selection committee in case of the candidates(s) appeared offline. Candidate(s) appearing interview in online mode must produce all original and self-attested documents mentioned above on the date of joining upon selection and the original documents of the candidate will be verified by the Principal Investigator.
