The Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT) in Nagpur is inviting applications for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in the Department of Electrical Engineering. This opportunity is part of an Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) funded project focused on developing a Smart Hydrogen Energy Recovery System. This role is ideal for motivated candidates with a background in Electrical Engineering and a passion for renewable energy systems.

Description

The VNIT Nagpur is seeking a Junior Research Fellow to contribute to a cutting-edge research project titled “Smart Hydrogen Energy Recovery System Using Metal Hydride Thermochemical Storage for Integrated Heating and Cooling.” The project aims to design and control power electronic converters for integrating renewable energy systems with grid support and hydrogen production. It also involves the modelling and simulation of photovoltaic systems and electrolyzer technologies.

Eligibility

Candidates must have a B.E./B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Energy Engineering, or Instrumentation Engineering with a minimum of 60% marks. Additionally, an M.E./MTech. in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, or related fields with a minimum of 60% marks is required. Candidates must have qualified in GATE in any year, regardless of current validity. Experience with simulation tools like MATLAB, LTSpice, or PSCAD, and prior research experience in power electronics or renewable energy systems is desirable.

Minimum Monthly Remuneration

• Rs. 37,000 per month for the initial two years
• Rs. 42,000 per month for the third year
