Description

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for contractual engagement as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Indian Forest and Wood Certification Scheme (IFWC) Cell, IIFM. The CEO of the Indian Forest and Wood Certification Scheme (IFWCS), will serve as the chief executive, guiding the cell at a strategic level. CEO role will involve representing IFWCS to members, stakeholders, and the public at regional and national level and responsible for developing, delivering, and updating the global strategy in line with IFWCS’s overall mandate. The CEO leads with a focus on inspiring and empowering the team, managing the organization and positively impacting forest conservation and sustainable management. CEO role is primarily valuing membership diversity, leveraging conflicts as opportunities, and fostering collaboration for the benefit of forests, dependent communities, farmers, institutions and other stakeholders. CEO should be a leader committed to promoting responsible and sustainable forest management and adherence to sustainability standards. The position is on contract basis for a period of 3 years initially and extendable by one more year.

Eligibility

Responsibility 1. Strategic Leadership: Formulate and disseminate a cohesive vision and national/regional/global strategy for IFWCS, in harmony with its statutes, mission, and objectives. Spearhead the execution of this strategy, fortifying membership involvement, and advocating for responsible forest stewardship. 2. Board, Membership, and Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate effectively with the Board, ensuring strategic adherence and transparent communication. Build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders to advance IFWCS’s mission. 3. Organizational Management: Offer strategic guidance national/ globally, staying informed/updated about various factors impacting IFWCS. Focus on innovation, compliance, and resource optimization to enhance organizational effectiveness. 4. Executive Team Leadership: Lead the executive team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and inclusive leadership. Drive the team towards productivity, quality, and success. 5. National, Regional and Global Impact: Expand IFWCS’s national, regional and global influence, promoting responsible forest management and monitoring the impact of initiatives. 6. Advocacy and Awareness: Act as a champion for IFWCS’s mission, engaging with stakeholders, institutions and media to enhance public perception and brand value in terms of its marketing and promotion. 7. Financial Sustainability: Assist in developing financial strategies for sustainability and strategic fundraising to support IFWCS’s projects. Educational Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Forestry, Natural Resource Management, Environment, or related disciplines or business management.
Experience:
At least 15 years of progressive leadership experience, preferably in the field of forestry, natural resource management/ sustainable Forest management/sustainability/Certification Management.
Exposure on sustainability standards, sustainable forest management, Forest certification, standardization or sustainable development process and Business Development.
Strong track record of successful results delivery
Demonstrated ability to engage with a variety of stakeholders including Government, communities, NGOs and industry.
Strong understanding of responsible and sustainable forest management, and its mechanism at international/national level.

Minimum Monthly Remuneration

  • Consolidated pay of Rs. 2,00,000 per month.
  • In case of retired government officers, remuneration shall be arrived at by deducting the basic pension from the pay drawn at the time of retirement.
