CSIR- National Botanical Research Institute (NBRI), Lucknow, a premier plant science research institute under the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt. of India is engaged in R&D programmes of both basic and translational nature across diverse disciplines of Plant Science for economic, environmental and societal benefits for the people of India. CSIR-NBRI undertakes cutting-edge research in all plant science disciplines including plant systematics, biodiversity, conservation biology, ecology, environmental science, phytochemistry, pharmacognosy, pharmacology, floriculture, plant-microbe interactions, plant biotechnology, plant genetics, plant molecular biology, genetic engineering, and bioinformatics. Development of high quality plant- and microbe-based products, crop improvement programmes through conventional breeding, molecular breeding, transgenics and genome editing approaches, and environmental technologies are the focus of translational research in the Institute
Description
The Institute has state-of-art laboratory infrastructure required for advance plant science research and product development. These include NMR, SEM, TEM, High Resolution Mass Spectroscopy, FTIR, HPLC, HPTLC, MALDI-TOFF, NGS platform, ICPMS, FACE (Free Air Carbon Dioxide Enrichment facility), Super Computer system, Flow Cytometer, and Confocal Microscope.

Senior Scientist S-02 Area: Pharmacognosy (Lateral level post) Ph.D. in any science subject in the area of Pharmacognosy/ Chemotaxonomy followed by 02 years experience in the relevant area.
