The Post-Doctoral Fellow will engage in a comprehensive molecular and computational investigation of visceral adipose tissue microbiome-host metabolic interactions. The research aims to unravel the complexities of obesity-associated Type 2 diabetes. Key responsibilities include adipose tissue/microbiome characterization, metagenomic and metabolomic data analysis, and the integration of multi-omics datasets. The candidate will also work on reconstructing and analysing host and microbial genome-scale metabolic models using computational approaches such as Flux Balance Analysis (FBA) and Flux Variability Analysis (FVA).

Project Details
Project Title: “Decoding Visceral Adipose Tissue Microbiome-Host Metabolic Crosstalk in Obesity-Associated Type 2 Diabetes Through Genome-Scale Metabolic Modelling”
Duration: Project duration is 4 years. Initial appointment is 1 year (with extension after one year). The post is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project.

Eligibility
Candidates must hold a Ph.D. degree or have a thesis submission certificate in Computational Biology. The position is open to individuals with a strong background in molecular and computational biology, particularly those experienced in bioinformatics and metabolic modelling.
