Description
The Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position at IARI is a temporary, unreserved role that is co-terminus with the project. The selected candidate will work on innovative research using CRISPR/Cas technology to address pest issues in agriculture, specifically targeting the Maize Fall Armyworm and Cotton Pink Bollworm. This project aims to develop precision-guided techniques for pest population suppression, contributing significantly to sustainable agricultural practices.

Eligibility
Candidates must possess a master’s degree in biotechnology, Life Science, Entomology, Agricultural Entomology, Bioinformatics, or allied subjects. Preference will be given to those who have cleared ICAR/CSIR/UGC-Eligibility Tests and have research experience in Insect Biotechnology, CRISPR-Cas, RNAi, Molecular Biology, Genomics, Proteomics, Transcriptomics, or Nanobiotechnology. Practical experience with lab techniques such as real-time PCR, SDS PAGE, insect embryonic microinjection, and bioinformatics is desirable.
Minimum Monthly Remuneration
- Rs. 37,000/- + HRA per month as per DST guidelines
