The Indian Institute of Technology Jammu (IIT Jammu) is inviting applications from qualified Indian candidates for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in a groundbreaking project titled “From Snowpack to Soil: Indus Water Treaty Western Basins.” This project, funded by ANRF, focuses on diagnosing and quantifying snow droughts in the upstream catchments of the Indus, Jhelum, and Chenab basins. Description

The project aims to apply super-resolution techniques for downscaling snow products and use these downscaled products for spatio-temporal snow drought characterization over the past two decades. The research will also explore the dynamics of terrestrial water storage and its influence on seasonal streamflow. Eligibility

     A. B.Tech. /B.E. relevant disciplines with minimum 65% aggregate marks or 6.5 CGPA and GATE qualified.

     B. M. Tech. /M.S./M.Sc. relevant disciplines with minimum 65% aggregate marks or 6.5 CGPA, and                       GATE/NET qualified.

     C. The candidate must have a good knowledge, logical understanding, analytical and hands on                            experience in remote sensing and GIS, hydrology, water resources, data science and climate change.

Minimum Monthly Remuneration

• INR 37,000/- plus House Rent Allowance (HRA)
