Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT), Nagpur, is inviting applications from motivated and eligible candidates for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in the Department of Electrical Engineering. This opportunity is part of an Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) funded research project focused on developing a Smart Hydrogen Energy Recovery System. This role offers a unique chance to contribute to cutting-edge research in renewable energy systems and power electronics.

Description

The Junior Research Fellow will work on a project titled “Smart Hydrogen Energy Recovery System Using Metal Hydride Thermochemical Storage for Integrated Heating and Cooling.” The project aims to design and control power electronic converters for integrating renewable energy systems with grid support and hydrogen production. It also involves modelling and simulation of photovoltaic systems and electrolyzer technologies.

Eligibility

Candidates must have a B.E./B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Energy Engineering, or Instrumentation Engineering with First Class (minimum 60%). Additionally, an M.E./MTech. in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, or allied areas with First Class (minimum 60%) is required. Candidates must have qualified in GATE in any year, irrespective of current validity. Experience with simulation tools such as MATLAB, LTSpice, or PSCAD, and prior research or project experience in power electronics, renewable energy systems, or grid integration is desirable.

Minimum Monthly Remuneration

• Rs. 37,000/- per month consolidated for the initial 2 years
• Rs. 42,000/- per month consolidated for the 3rd year
