West Bengal Power Development Corporation Limited (WBPDCL) is a company owned by the Government of West Bengal with the goal to carry on interalia the business of electric power generation and supply in the state of West Bengal, India. The thermal power plants under WBPDCL are in Kolaghat, Bakreswar, Sagardighi, Santaldih,and Bandel. The registered & Corporate Office of The West Bengal Power Development Corporation Limited has been functioning from its own office bulding at Plot– 3/C, LA-Block, Sector-III, SaltLake City, Kolkata-700 106 on and from 27th October, 2008 (Monday) after shifting the office from New Secretariate Buildings. WBPDCL Formed in July, 1985 with only one generating unit at Kolaghat having turnover of Rs.64 Crore paced up further to Rs.2728 Crores in 2007-08 with 20 units at Kolaghat,Bandel, Bakreswar, Santaldih and Sagardighi. Kolaghat Thermal Power Station involves a total installed capacity of 1260 MW. Installed capacity of Kolaghat Thermal Power Station is 1260 MW., Bakreshwar Thermal Power Station is 1050MW , Sagardighi Thermal Power Project is 1600MW, Bandel Thermal Power Station is 330 MW and Santaldih Thermal Power Station is 500 MW. WBPDCL works in tandem with West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (WBSEDCL) and Calcutta Electric Supply Corporation (CESC).

Eligibility
Mines Manager a) Degree in Mining Engineering / AMIE in Mining Engineering from any institute approved / recognized by the UGC, AICTE with 1st Class Manager’s Certificate of Competency under the CMR, 1957/2017. a) 05 years’ post qualification experience in Coal Mine out of which 01 year in open cast coal mine as Mines Manager after having obtained 1st Class Manager’s Certificate of Competency.
b) Diploma in Mining Engineering from an Institute approved by the State Council of Technical & Vocational Education and Skill Development / AICTE with 1st Class Manager’s Certificate of Competency under the Coal Mines Regulation, 1957 / 2017. b) 15 years’ post qualification experience in Coal Mine out of which 02 years in open cast coal mine as Mines Manager after having obtained 1st Class Manager’s Certificate of Competency.
Safety Officer a) Degree in Mining Engineering / AMIE in Mining Engineering from any institute approved / recognized by the UGC, AICTE with 1st Class Manager’s Certificate of Competency under the CMR, 1957/2017. a) 02 years’ post qualification experience in Coal Mine.
b) Diploma in Mining Engineering from an Institute approved by the State Council of Technical & Vocational Education and Skill Development / AICTE with 1st Class Manager’s Certificate of Competency under the Coal Mines Regulation, 1957 / 2017. b) 10 years’ post qualification experience in Coal Mine.
Assistant Mines Manager a) Degree in Mining Engineering / AMIE in Mining Engineering from any institute approved / recognized by the UGC, AICTE with 2nd Class Manager’s Certificate of Competency under the CMR, 1957/2017. a) 1 year post qualification experience in coal mine.
b) Diploma in Mining Engineering from an Institute approved by the State Council of Technical & Vocational Education and Skill Development / AICTE with 2nd Class Manager’s Certificate of Competency under the Coal Mines Regulation, 1957 / 2017. b) 10 years’ post qualification experience in coal mine.
Blasting Officer a) Degree in Mining Engineering / AMIE in Mining Engineering from any institute approved / recognized by the UGC, AICTE with 1st Class Manager’s Certificate of Competency under the Coal Mines Regulation, 1957 / 2017. a) 2 years’ post qualification experience in coal mine, preferably in open cast coal mine.
b) Diploma in Mining Engineering from an Institute approved by the State Council of Technical & Vocational Education and Skill Development / AICTE with 1st Class Manager’s Certificate of Competency under the Coal Mines Regulation, 1957 / 2017. b) 10 years’ post qualification experience in coal mine, preferably in open cast coal mine.
Welfare Officer (a) 2 years full time Post-Graduate Degree / Diploma (PGDBM) / MBA / MHRM with specialization in Personnel Management / IR / HR from a University recognized by UGC / Institute approved by AICTE or from IIMs / XLRI / IIT B – School OR (a) 3 years’ experience in coal mine or industrial undertaking as Mine Welfare / Personnel Officer.
(b) Degree or Diploma in Social Science or Labour Welfare recognized by the appropriate authority for the post of Welfare Officer under the Mines Rules, 1955. (b) 10 years’ experience in coal mine or industrial undertaking as Mine Welfare / Personnel Officer.
Surveyor Diploma in Survey Engineering from an Institute approved by the State Council of Technical & Vocational Education and Skill Development / AICTE with DGMS Certified Surveyor’s Certificate under the Coal Mines Regulations, 1957/2017. 1 year experience in open cast coal mine after obtaining Surveyor’s Certificate from DGMS under CMR.
Overman Diploma in Mining Engineering with valid Overman’s certificate of Competency from DGMS under Coal Mines Regulation 1957/2017. 1 year post qualification experience in open cast mine as Overman.
Office Executive – CMPF Graduate with 50% marks in aggregate or Honours Graduate in any discipline from any university recognized by UGC with certificate course / any other courses in Computer Application from any registered Institute. 3 years’ experience in the job of Coal Mines Provident Fund (CMPF).
