Shivaji University, established in 1962, is named after the Great Maratha Warrior and founder of the Maratha empire Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. It was inaugurated on 18th November, 1962 by Dr. Radhakrishnan, the then President of India. One of the major objectives behind foundation of this University was to cater to the regional needs of South Maharashtra. The jurisdiction of the University is spread over three districts viz. Kolhapur, Sangli and Satara with strength of about 3,00,000 students studying in 280 affiliated colleges and recognised institutes.

Applications are invited for one temporary post of JRF under DST-SERB (a statutory body of the Department of Science & Technology, Government of India), sanctioned Major Research Project entitled “Role of Vegetated Coastal Habitats and Estuarine Ecosystem to Manage Blue Carbon Sequestration: Analysis of Climate Change impacts and Hydrological Processes in Gad Estuary (Maharashtra) Using Geospatial Techniques and Hydrological Models” undertaken in the Department of Geography, Shivaji University, Kolhapur, Maharashtra

Eligibility

Position:Junior Research Fellow (JRF)
M.Sc./ M.Tech. in: Geography/ Geoinformatics, Earth Science, Geosciences, Remote Sensing and GIS with UGC/CSIR-NET [In case such candidates will not available, candidate with suitable background will be considered].
Candidates are preferred with:
• Specialization in Geomorphology, Climatology
• Knowledge of Hydrological models , Remote Sensing & GIS

Minimum Monthly Remuneration

• Junior Research Fellow (JRF) Rs. 31000/- per month + HRA (as per DST-SERB rules)
