Description

The Division of Animal Biotechnology at SKUAST-K is seeking applications for a DST-sponsored project titled “Centre of Excellence for Exploring Challenges to Identify Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Drivers and Potential.” The project aims to address critical issues related to antimicrobial resistance, a growing concern in both human and veterinary medicine. Successful candidates will work on innovative research projects that involve molecular diagnostics, diagnostic kit development, and the use of AI-based tools for data management.

Eligibility

The eligibility criteria for the positions are as follows:

• Research Associate-I: Ph.D. in Microbiology, Medical Microbiology, or Biotechnology. Candidates with experience in R&D projects related to AMR, molecular diagnostics, and AI-based tools are preferred. Publications and patents in relevant fields will be an added advantage.
• Project Associate-I: Master’s degree in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or Clinical Biochemistry. Experience in molecular biology techniques, particularly digital PCR and microscopy, is desirable. Candidates interested in pursuing a Ph.D. as part of the project are encouraged to apply.
• Project Assistant: Masters in Biotechnology/ Biochemistry/ Microbiology/Clinical Biochemistry. Experience in basic molecular biology techniques and cell culture. Preference will be given to candidates who are interested in pursuing a Ph.D. as part of the project. 

Minimum Monthly Remuneration

• Remuneration for both positions will be as per DST norms.
