The National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli (NIT Trichy) is inviting applications from Indian Nationals for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) or Project Associate – I. This opportunity is part of a cutting-edge research project in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, led by Dr. Shelas Sathyan. The project aims to develop a high-performance reconfigurable bidirectional DC-DC converter with advanced modulation strategies, crucial for applications such as electric vehicles and DC microgrids.
Description
The project titled “Design and Development of High-Performance Reconfigurable Bidirectional DC-DC Converter with Advanced Modulation Strategy for Wide Load and Voltage Range Applications” is funded by the ANRF – Advanced Research Grant (ARG). The research focuses on overcoming the limitations of conventional Dual Active Bridge (DAB) converters, such as limited Zero Voltage Switching (ZVS) and high circulating currents. By integrating topology morphing techniques with advanced modulation strategies, the project aims to minimize power losses and broaden ZVS boundaries. The deliverables include design and analysis of topologies, simulations, robust control methodologies for mode transitions, and validation through hardware prototypes.
