National Institute Of Technology, Silchar is one of the 31 National Institutes of Technology of India and was established in 1967 as a Regional Engineering College in Assam. In 2002 it was upgraded to the status of National Institute of Technology and was declared as Institute of National Importance under the National Institutes of Technology Act, 2007.
Description
Eligible and interested candidates are invited for an interview for the post of One Research Assistant and One Field Investigator purely on tenure basis in the Department of Management Studies at National Institute of Technology, Silchar. The posts are created under the Research Project, sanctioned by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), New Delhi under the scheme of ICSSR Special Call for Short Term Empirical Research (Vide Sanction Order File No. 190/CRP-2023-193/JAY/SCD dated 04/10/2023).
The details of the position for the above Project, with Consolidated Salary & Eligibility are given below: Research Assistant: will carry out the project related literature review, develop questionnaire, data collection from field, data analysis and writingthe report.
Field Investigator: Prospective Field Investigator will be required to visit the field, collect data, and engage in report writing, if needed.
Title of the project :”Socio-Economic Impact of Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana In North-Eastern States of India”.
Duration : Research Assistant Upto 04 Months or till completion of Project.

Eligibility
Position: Research Assistant
Essential Qualifications : Ph.D./M.Phil./Post graduate in
social science discipline with minimum 55%.
Field Investigator : Post graduate in any social science
discipline with minimum 55%.
Desirable Experience :
- Familiarity with advanced statistical methods for causal
inference. - Proficient to use software such as SPSS, SMART PLS.
- Excellent data analysis and report writing skills.
Minimum Monthly Remuneration
- As per the rates approved by the ICSSR, New Delhi @ Rs. 32,000/– p.m.for Research Assistant and @ Rs. 30,000/-p.m for Field Investigator
