The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Meghalaya is one among the thirty one NITs in India established under the NIT Act 2007 (Amended 2012) of the Parliament of India as Institutes of National Importance with full funding support from the Ministry of Education (Shiksha Mantralaya), Government of India. The aim is to build it to be a center of excellence in education and research in the fields of engineering, science and technology. The vision is to develop it to be an Institution vibrant with academic activities and bubbling with youthful creative energy. The challenge is to overcome the apparent disadvantages of its remote location and turn them into advantage.

NIT Meghalaya invites online applications from Indian nationals possessing requisite academic qualifications, experience and age limit for appointment to various Non-Faculty (Technical Assistant / Technician / Superintendent/ Junior Assistant)positions on regular basis as follows:

Eligibility
1.Technical Assistant in Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering Essential Qualification:
First Class or equivalent Grade in B.E. / B. Tech. / MCA in Computer Science from a recognized University / Institute.Or First Class Diploma in Computer Science Engineering in with excellent academic record. 2.Technician in Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering 3.Technician in Computer Centre
4.Technician in Electronics & Communication Engineering Essential Qualification: 1.Senior secondary (10+2) from a Government recognized Board with at least 60% marks. OR
2.Senior secondary (10+2) from a Government recognized Board with at least 50% marks and ITI Course of one year or higher duration in Computer Science / Information & Technology Trades. OR
3.Secondary (10) with at least 60% marks and ITI Certificate of 2 years duration in Computer Science / Information & Technology Trades. OR 4.Diploma in Engineering of three year’s duration in Computer Science & Engineering / Information & Technology from a recognized Polytechnic / Institute.
5.Superintendent Essential Qualification: 1.First class Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent from a recognized University or Institute in any discipline. OR 2.Master’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized University or Institute with at least 50% marks or equivalent grade.3.Knowledge of Computer applications viz., Word processing, Spread Sheet.
6.Junior Assistant Essential Qualification: 1.Senior secondary (10+2) from a recognized board with a minimum Typing speed of 35 w.p.m. and proficiency in Computer Word Processing and Spread Sheet. Desirable: Proficiency in other computer skills; stenography skills.
Minimum Monthly Remuneration
- 1.Pay Level 6, with Basic pay of ₹35400/- (as per 7th CPC)
- 2.3.&4.Pay Level 3, with Basic pay of ₹21,700/- (as per 7th CPC)
- 5.Pay Level 6, with Basic pay of ₹35400/- (as per 7th CPC)
- 6.Pay Level 3, with Basic pay of ₹21,700/- (as per 7th CPC)
