The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Meghalaya is one among the thirty one NITs in India established under the NIT Act 2007 (Amended 2012) of the Parliament of India as Institutes of National Importance with full funding support from the Ministry of Education (Shiksha Mantralaya), Government of India. The aim is to build it to be a center of excellence in education and research in the fields of engineering, science and technology. The vision is to develop it to be an Institution vibrant with academic activities and bubbling with youthful creative energy. The challenge is to overcome the apparent disadvantages of its remote location and turn them into advantage.

Job Description

Application are invited from the interested candidates for the position of Field Worker to work on the R&D project under Department of Science and Technology (DST)-Science & Engineering Research Board (SERB), Empowerment and Equity Opportunity for Excellence in Science (EMES) scheme, Government of India, sponsored project bearing the sanction number EEQ/2022/000397undertake by the Department of Civil Engineering, NIT Meghalaya. The candidate has to do laboratory experiments like Gradation, bituminous mix design and testing of samples, site visit for sample collection and other project related studies.

Project brief: Gainful Utilization of Overburden Mining Waste Generated During Limestone Mining in Meghalaya Region as Flexible Pavement Material. Sponsored Agency, Science & Engineering Research Board (SERB), Govt. of India.

Field Worker – 1 Post

Eligibility

Minimum Qualification :Graduate in any discipline.

Desirable Qualification : Graduate in Civil Engineering, with basic understanding of bituminous mixes, properties, their design methodology, strength, and durability evaluation parameters.

Minimum Monthly Remuneration

• Consolidated monthly compensation : RS. 18000/- pm
