National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal is located in Mangalore City, Karnataka State, India. The Institute was established as Karnataka Regional Engineering College (KREC) in 1960, and upgraded as National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK) in 2002. Mangalore is the headquarters of the coastal district of Dakshina Kannada, and boasts an important centre of education, business and trade in the state. Sri. U. Srinivasa Mallya, a visionary and a philanthropist, contributed immensely to the development of the coastal region of Karnataka, and his effort towards establishment of KREC (now NITK) is the most significant one. In recognition of his role as the founder and architect of the institute, the campus premises is named after him as Srinivasnagar.

Job Description

Applications are invited for Maire Tecnimont Project Associate – 2 (MTE – PA2) for research in Maire Tecnimont Centre for Research in Waste Recycling and Circular Economy for CSR funded research project on Waste Recycling and Circular Eco. The availability of the fellowship for Project Associate – 2 (MTE – PA2) will be for seven
months. Sponsoring Company : Tecnimont S.P.A. India Project Office, Tecnimont House, Mumbai, Indian subsidiary of Maire Tecnimont S.P.A. Milan Italy.

Eligibility

Maire Tecnimont Project Associate – 2 (MTE – PA2) Qualification : A candidate must have completed B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering / Chemical Engineering / Environmental Engineering/Metallurgical and Materials Engineering /M.Sc in Chemistry.

Experience: A Technical Knowledge of Process Simulation of ASPEN PLUS Modelling or Life Cycle Analysis (LCA)
OR
Knowledge about Analytical techniques using GC or GCMS or GCxGCTOFMS or PTR TOFMS or TGA FTIR or NMR or ICP AES is highly appreciable.

Desirable: The candidate must be able to work independently and flexibly and having the following qualities will be desirable. 1. Basic knowledge about laboratory/benchscale work with a technical focus on the basic fundamentals to understand and optimize the process. 2.Implementation: Pilot/demonstration scale or the field application projects. 3.Sustainability aspects: Financial, social, environmental aspects, models and simulations, theoretical evaluation, potential analysis, decision support tools. 4.Excellent analytical and writing skill.

Minimum Monthly Remuneration

• Fellowship Rs.18,000/- per month (consolidated)
• Research Grant Rs.30,000/- per annum.
