National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal is located in Mangalore City, Karnataka State, India. The Institute was established as Karnataka Regional Engineering College (KREC) in 1960, and upgraded as National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK) in 2002. Ref. No.: NITK/EC/2023-24/ ` Date: 14.03.2024 Recruitment for Junior/Senior Research Fellow Position. Applications are invited from motivated and eligible candidates for the position of a Junior/Senior Research Fellow (JRF/SRF) for an R&D project entitled “Multi-functional Metasurface Design for Amplitude, Polarization and Wave-Front Control for 6G Communication Systems” sponsored by the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), Government of India. The selected candidate will be involved in design and development of reconfigurable metasurfaces for beam-shaping applications for 6G communication systems. The project aims to design and characterize the metasurface with switching elements and a biasing network to reconfigure its reflective, transmissive, and beam-shaping characteristics. Duration: Maximum of 3 years.

Essential Qualification: 1. B.E/B.Tech/M.E./M.Tech. or equivalent in relevant branch of Electronics/Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering/ Applied Physics/Optics and Related branches. Fresh graduates, expected to complete the degree by July 2024, can also be eligible to apply. OR 2. Graduate in Applied Physics/Electrical /Electronics and Photonics science or related area, with GATE qualification or CSIR-UGC NET, including lectureship (Assistant professorship), or any National level examination conducted by Central Govt. Desirable: Strong background and interest in applied electromagnetics, Microwave engineering, and Antenna design. Proficiency in electromagnetic CAD simulation software.

Minimum Monthly Remuneration

  • Rs. 37,000 (Consolidated)
