The National Institute of Technology Calicut (NITC) is inviting applications for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) on a contract basis. Description
The Junior Research Fellow position at NITC is a contractual role aimed at supporting a research project sponsored by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF). The project focuses on the development of WC-6Co carbide cutting inserts with enhanced in-service heat dissipation and real-time temperature monitoring via Material Extrusion based Additive Manufacturing. This role provides an excellent platform for candidates to engage in advanced research methodologies and gain valuable experience in the field of mechanical engineering.

Eligibility
Candidates must possess a master’s degree in mechanical/production/manufacturing engineering or related disciplines from a recognized university with first-class marks and a valid GATE qualification. Alternatively, candidates with a bachelor’s degree in the same fields with a CGPA of 7.5 on a 10-point scale and a valid GATE score are also eligible. A good understanding of additive manufacturing processes and finite element modelling is desirable. The age limit is 40 years, with applicable relaxations as per government rules.
Minimum Monthly Remuneration
- Consolidated monthly pay of ₹37,000 plus 20% HRA
