Description
The School of Life Sciences at JNU is seeking a Project Research Scientist-I for a time-bound research project titled “Structure based development of key antimalarial inhibitors/drugs against Plasmodium metacaspases and validation in vitro and in vivo systems.” This project is purely contractual and offers a unique opportunity to work on the development of antimalarial drugs using advanced techniques in gene cloning, protein expression, and X-ray structure analysis.

Eligibility
Candidates must possess a Ph.D. in Life Science or Structural Biology as per ICMR guidelines. Proficiency in gene cloning, site-directed mutagenesis, protein expression in E. coli and yeast systems, protein refolding and purification, crystallization, X-ray structure analysis, modelling, and dynamics simulation work is highly desirable. Candidates with prior experience in these techniques will be given preference. The age limit is up to 35 years, with relaxations applicable for SC/ST/OBC, women, and physically handicapped candidates.
Minimum Monthly Remuneration
- Rs. 56,000/- plus HRA 30% (Rs. 16,800) based on satisfactory performance every three months.
