Description

The Institute of Nano Science and Technology, an autonomous research institute under the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, is seeking applications for a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position. The selected candidate will work on a project titled “Development of strongly spin orbit coupled topological quantum hetero structures for spintronic application.” This project involves advanced research using state-of-the-art thin film deposition techniques based on molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) and the study of magnetic and magnetization dynamics of thin films.

Project Details

Project Title: “Development of strongly spin orbit coupled topological quantum hetero structures for spintronic application”.

Duration: Up to 6 months.  

Principal Investigator: Dr Indranil Sarkar 

Eligibility

Candidates must possess a postgraduate degree or MSc degree in Physics or Nanotechnology. They should be selected through national eligibility tests such as CSIR-UGC NET (including lectureship and PhD) or GATE or JEST. Alternatively, candidates selected through national level examinations conducted by central government departments and their agencies and institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER, etc., are also eligible. The age limit is 28 years as of 14.09.2026, with relaxations applicable for certain reserved categories as per Government of India rules.

Minimum Monthly Remuneration

  • Rs. 31,000/- per month plus HRA as applicable

Candidates residing or working within 200 KM of the institute are preferred to attend the interview offline. Those opting for an online interview must indicate their preference before 13th September 2026.
