Established in 2015, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Palakkad is dedicated to creating an environment that enables students and faculty to engage in the pursuit of knowledge, dream, think and innovate to become a change agent for a better world. Celebrated as a major granary of Kerala, Palakkad is the gateway to the State, from the East in the form of the nearly 40-kilometre break in the Western Ghats, called the Palakkad Gap. The Centre for Industry Collaboration & Sponsored Research (IC&SR) in IIT Palakkad has been set up in July 2018 to promote, facilitate, coordinate and administer all the sponsored and consultancy projects of the Institute. IC&SR functions as the interface between the faculty and external funding agencies (government and private agencies), both national and international.

Job Description

Notification for Recruitment of Senior Research Fellow, Civil Engineering Project funded by Kerala Highway Research Institute. Project Areas: Road Safety, Crash Modelling, Surrogate Safety Measures.  

Position

• Senior Research Fellow (SRF)

Eligibility

Candidates should have the following qualifications
1. B. Tech. in Civil Engineering with at least 65% marks.
2. M. Tech. in Transportation Engineering with M. Tech. Dissertation in Transportation Systems with at least 75% marks.
3. At least 3 years’ research experience in road safety, crash modelling. Publication history preferable.
4. At least 3 years’ experience in GIS platform.
Required Skills: Proficiency in statistical modelling, crash data analysis, road geometry analysis using GIS, on-road data collection experience, UAV based data collection experience, good written and oral communication skills, technical writing experience.

Remuneration

• The monthly remuneration for this position will be Rs. 42,000/- (Forty- Two Thousand Rupees Only). Hostel accommodation may be provided at the institute based on availability on a chargeable basis. In case of non-availability of institute hostel, admissible HRA will be provided as per Government of India rules.
