Project Overview: TAURI (Translating and Accelerating University Research and Innovation) group from Environmental Division, Civil Engineering Department, IIT Madras is seeking highly motivated and talented individual to join our team as Postdoctoral research associate for a one-year position. This opportunity is part of an IGSTC funded project focused on the removal of organics from textile wastewater using advanced oxidation process (AOP) and removal of salt from textile wastewater using innovative membrane capacitive deionization (MCDI) and flow capacitive deionization (FCDI) techniques.

Preferred Qualifications: • Ph.D. in Chemical / Environmental Engineering or relevant disciplines such as Chemistry. • Strong background in MCDI, Fixed or Flow CDI, and Electroperoxone / Advanced oxidation process. • Expertise in scaling up bench-scale experiments to pilot scale systems for effective translation of research findings. • Proficiency in project proposal writing and reviewing. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. • Excellent project management skills with a track record of successful joint project execution. Responsibilities: • Develop testing protocols and equipment for AOP + CDI pilot systems related to degradation of organics and salt removal from textile wastewater. • Explore the viability of FCDI as an alternative method for salt recovery from textile wastewater. • Work with industry in implementation of the Pilot and successive running of the Pilot. • To travel and monitor the successful operation of pilot in industries, periodically. • Plan, and execute the project including new technology development from laboratory scale to commercialization in timely manner. • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
Minimum Yearly Remuneration
Rs 47,000/- to Rs 58,000/- Per month.
