The Indian Institute of Science, a premier Centrally Funded Technical Institution for higher education and research in the field of science & engineering, funded by the Government of India, has completed a century of major contributions to the nation. The JRD Tata Memorial Library of the Institute was one of the first three departments started in the Institute. It is regarded as one of the best scientific and technical libraries in India. Apart from the Main Library, the Institute has departmental libraries as well. The primary mission of the library is to support the educational and research programs of the Institute by providing physical and electronic access to information, consistent with the present and anticipated educational and research functions of the institute.

Description

The Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, invites applications for the following Web Application Security Consultant positions at Digital Campus and IT Services (DIGITS). The details are as follows:

Duration: Engagement is purely temporary on a contract basis, initially for a period of one year and renewable annually up to a maximum duration of five years, based on the satisfactory performance and requirements of the Institute. Contract tenure will commence from the date of joining. An increment up to a maximum of 10% annually may be admissible in the case of an extension of the contract based on the candidate’s performance and recommendations of the Chairperson of DIGITS.

Web Application Security Consultant

Essential: BE/BTech in CS/IT/EE/ECE/ME/equivalent or MCA or M.Sc or M.Com Experience: Minimum 3 years or a valid certification related to Web VAPT (Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP) etc..) Job Profile/Responsibilities (a) Conduct thorough security assessments of web applications and network infrastructure. (b) Perform penetration testing to identify vulnerabilities in web applications and network systems. (c) Collaborate with cross-functional teams to remediate and mitigate identified security risks. (d) Design, implement, and maintain security measures to protect web applications from potential threats. (e) Stay abreast of emerging security trends and vulnerabilities (f) Conduct code reviews and provide security recommendations to our development teams. (g) Conduct regular security audits of network infrastructure to identify vulnerabilities and weaknesses. (h) Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation related to web application and network security policies, procedures, and guidelines. (i) Generate detailed reports for VAPT findings, including risk assessments and recommended remediation actions. Skills (a) Web application security testing tools (e.g., Burp Suite, OWASP ZAP). (b) Network security tools and protocols (firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs). (c) Programming/scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell). (d) Knowledge of web technologies and network architecture. (e) Strong technical aptitude. (f) Over a period of six months, must be able to work independently, manage multiple concurrent tasks and work with people with differing technical knowledge levels. (g) Excellent oral presentation and written communication skills are required. (h) Must be detail-oriented.

Minimum Monthly Remuneration

Rs. 60,000/- (Consolidated) Per Month.
