The Indian Institute of Technology Jammu was inaugurated on 6th August 2016, and welcomed the first batch of students into the campus in Paloura, Jammu. In the initial phases, the establishment of IIT Jammu was done under the mentorship of IIT Delhi. In 2018, IIT Jammu shifted the primary operations to the Main Campus in Jagti, Nagrota. The State Government, Jammu and Kashmir has provided land for the establishment of a permanent campus of the Indian Institute of Technology in Jammu, which consists of 400 acres. Currently the Phase 1 A of the main campus, spread across 25 acres, is operational. Phase 1 B and 1 C are undergoing construction. The campus in Paloura currently houses the PhD scholars and is being developed into a high-end research facility.
IIT Jammu invites online applications for filling up the post of General Duty Medical Officer on outsource basis (through manpower agency). The applications received through IIT Jammu online portal shall only be considered.
- General Duty Medical Officer
Position: General Duty Medical Officer
(a) M.B.B.S. with at least 60% marks including completion of compulsory rotatory internship.
(b) Proficiency in the use of computer office applications like M.S Word, Excel and Power-point or equivalent is must.
(a) Experience in a recognized hospital
(b) M.D. or equivalent in any branch of Medicine with at least 60% marks with experience post-PG.
Work Profile at IIT Jammu
(a) Patient consultation and treatment.
(b) Duties allotted as per roster (rotational shift/night duty).
(c) Taking care of emergencies (on call basis)
(d) The medical officer may be required to stay on campus as resident doctor. Semi-furnished accommodation shall be provided on campus.
Minimum Monthly Remuneration
- General Duty Medical Officer Rs. 50,000-70,000/- per month (Consolidated). Higher amount may be considered based on qualification and experience.
