Indian Institute of Technology (ISM) Dhanbad Project Staff (JRF/SRF/RA/Project Assistant/Project Associate) position under TexMiN Foundation

The Indian Institute of Technology (ISM) Dhanbad is inviting applications for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under the TexMiN Foundation. This opportunity is part of a sponsored project aimed at developing an AI-enabled multiscale framework for sustainable rare-earth recovery from secondary resources. This project is a significant step towards enhancing the efficiency of rare earth element recovery, reducing environmental impacts, and supporting circular economy initiatives.

Description

The project, titled “AI-Empowered Multiscale Framework for Sustainable Rare-Earth Recovery from Secondary Resources,” is led by Dr. Madhulika Gupta, Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology at IIT(ISM) Dhanbad. The research focuses on using artificial intelligence and computational modelling to improve the recovery of rare earth elements from various secondary resources such as mine tailings, fly ash, industrial residues, and electronic waste. The project involves data collection, machine learning model development, and multiscale modelling of extraction mechanisms.

Eligibility

Candidates must possess an M.E/MTech/M. S/Integrated MTech or B.E/B.Tech in Metallurgical, Chemical, Mineral, Environmental, or Computer Science, or a related discipline. Alternatively, an M.Sc. or M.Sc. Tech in Chemistry or Environmental Science is acceptable. Additionally, candidates must have qualified in the GATE or CSIR-UGC NET examination. Experience in machine learning, data analytics, and programming (Python, MATLAB) is desirable.

Minimum Monthly Remuneration

• Rs. 37,000/- + HRA (as applicable) per month
