Description

The Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position at IIT Indore is part of a research initiative aimed at understanding thermomigration behavior in high-entropy solder alloy systems. This project involves computational thermodynamics, diffusion modeling, and experimental characterization to enable the predictive design of thermally stable advanced materials. The research is led by Dr. Vivek Verma from the Department of Metallurgical Engineering and Materials Science.

Project Details

Project Title: “Unravelling Thermomigration Effects in High-Entropy Solder Alloys”.

Duration:  Initially for one year; extendable based on performance and project tenure.

Principal Investigator: Dr. Vivek Verma

Eligibility

Candidates must possess the following qualifications:

  • MTech. / M.E./ M.S. or equivalent degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, or related fields with a previously qualified GATE score.
  • B.Tech./ B.E. or equivalent degree in relevant fields with a valid GATE score.
  • M.Sc. in Materials Science, Physics, Nanoscience and Technology with a valid GATE score or UGC/CSIR-JRF qualification.
  • Desirable: Strong foundation in physical metallurgy, thermodynamics, and mechanical behaviour, with experience in materials characterization techniques.

Minimum Monthly Remuneration

  • ₹37,000 per month + HRA
