The Indian School of Mines was formally opened on 9th December 1926, by Lord Irwin, the then Viceroy of India to address the need for trained manpower related to mining activities in the country with disciplines of Mining and Applied Geology. In 1967 it was granted the status of a deemed to be university under Section 3 of UGC Act, 1956. Since its establishment, IIT(ISM) has undergone considerable expansion of its activities, and presently it can be considered as a total technology education institute.

Essential Qualification: B.E./BTech in ECE/CSE/EE/Aerospace with the following criterion:
a) The candidate must have qualification in National Eligibility Tests-CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) and GATE, or,
b) should be selected for their Graduate/Post Graduate courses through the selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions such as DST, DBR, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISC, IISER etc.
Candidates with B.E./BTech in ECE/CSE/EE/Aerospace not having qualifications as in a), b) above are also eligible with a lower fellowship.
The candidates must have good academic background and good knowledge in any of the following areas: Communication Systems/Machine Learning & Signal Processing/Antennas/Sensors/UAV systems.
Desirable Qualification: M.E/M.Tech in the relevant fields. Industrial experience in drone technologies. Good communication skills, both in scientific writing as well as presentation.
Minimum Monthly Remuneration
Rs.31000 consolidated for candidates with essential qualifications a),b)
Rs.25000 consolidated for others not falling under a), b)
