IISERs were created through a proclamation of Ministry of Education, Government of India, to promote quality education and research in science and related areas. The first two IISERs (Pune and Kolkata) were established in 2006. This was followed by an Institute at Mohali (2007), Bhopal & Trivandrum (2008), Tirupati (2015), and Berhampur (2016). IISERs were incorporated as Institutions of National Importance under the umbrella of the NIT (Amendment) Act, 2012 (NIT Act 2007). The Act was further amended in 2014, entitled the NITSER ACT 2014. Each IISER is a degree-granting autonomous institute.

Applications are invited for the post of “Lab Assistant” for a research project entitled “Clean Air Catalyst” funded by the World Resources Institute (WRI). Name of the post: Lab Assistant Number of posts: 02 Duration: Initially for 6 months, extendable to be co-terminus with the project, whichever is earlier.

Minimum Qualifications: B.Sc. in Atmospheric Science, Environmental Science/Studies, Chemistry, Physics or other Science disciplines with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent grade from a recognized University/Institute. Research Experience for Position: Preference will be given to candidates having experience with PM filter weighing aerosol laboratory chemical analysis with IC, (Ion Chromatography), OCEC analyzer, ICP-OES or GC-MS. Data analysis of aerosol measurement will be an added advantage. Job Profile: Filter preparation, sampling, data entry, basic files preparation and data consolidation using MS office and day-to-day maintenance of instruments, chemical analysis, maintaining log and data records. Performing Data Quality Assurance /Quality Control exercises.
Minimum Monthly Remuneration
Salary: Rs. 20,000 pm + 16% HRA
