Indian Institute of Management Tiruchirappalli Requires Research Associate for a Sponsored Research Project

Indian Institute of Management Tiruchirappalli (IIMT) is the eleventh IIM and was instituted on 4th January 2011. Tiruchirappalli is a city known for its prominence in education, spirituality, art and culture and IIM Trichy tends to benefit from this. IIMT is functioning from its sprawling state-of-the-art campus spread over 175 acres of land on Trichy-Pudukottai highway, about 11 km from Tiruchirappalli International Airport.

Job Description

IIM Tiruchirappalli is seeking a qualified individual to join our research team for the project titled, “VDart’s Economic and Social Impact on Trichy.” The primary objective of this project is to systematically gather, analyze, and consolidate data pertaining to the social and economic influence of VDart, both from the company’s internal sources and publicly available information. The appointed RA will play a crucial role in producing a comprehensive technical report, intended for dissemination among various stakeholders of VDart.

Eligibility

Research Associate (RA) Position Essential Qualification:

1. The ideal candidate must hold a post-graduate degree (first class) in commerce, economics, management, or statistics, demonstrating excellent writing skills and a robust research orientation.
2. Proficiency in statistical software such as SPSS, R, and Stata, along with familiarity with econometric modelling, is essential.
3. Additionally, the candidate should possess advanced proficiency in MS-Office/Ms-Excel and strong report writing capabilities.
4. Preferably, candidates with a Ph.D. in the mentioned fields are encouraged to apply, and those with prior experience in similar projects will be given preference.

Desirable Qualification:

1. Strong analytical and data collection skills.
2. Ability to work collaboratively with a research team.
3. Flexibility with working hours.
4. Fluency in both Tamil and English is required.
5. The candidate should be willing to travel locally in and around Trichy as needed and preferably possess a two-wheeler. Responsibilities: 1.Timely collection of both primary and secondary data from VDart and external, publicly available, and subscription-based data repositories. 2.Collaboration with Principal Co-investigators to analyze gathered data and generate meaningful research outputs, including a technical report and research findings.
   The candidate should be willing to travel locally in and around Trichy as needed and preferably possess a two-wheeler.

Minimum Monthly Remuneration

• Consolidated salary Rs. 30,000 per month
