IISER Bhopal Applications are Invited for the Post of Project Assistant or Project Associate

IISERs were created through a proclamation of Ministry of Education, Government of India, to promote quality education and research in science and related areas. The first two IISERs (Pune and Kolkata) were established in 2006. This was followed by an Institute at Mohali (2007), Bhopal & Trivandrum (2008), Tirupati (2015), and Berhampur (2016). IISERs were incorporated as Institutions of National Importance under the umbrella of the NIT (Amendment) Act, 2012 (NIT Act 2007). The Act was further amended in 2014, entitled the NITSER ACT 2014. Each IISER is a degree-granting autonomous institute.

Description

Applications are invited from Indian nationals for the post of Project Assistant or Project Associate (PA) in the laboratory of Prof. R.MAHALAKSHMI, Professor, Dept. of Biological Sciences, IISER Bhopal.

Job responsibilities: Generating mutagenesis libraries, membrane protein preparation, protein folding/unfolding titrations.

Tenure: 1-2 years; extendable to 3 years with salary appraisal each year, based on performance.

Eligibility

Position: Project Assistant (PA)
Essential Qualifications : First class B. Sc. or equivalent in BIOCHEMISTRY from a recognized national university. Enclose all mark sheets as proof.

Project Associate (PA) Essential Qualifications : First class M. Sc. or equivalent in BIOPHYSICS from a recognized national university. Must have valid GATE/JRF qualification. Must have 6-mo experience in molecular biology. Enclose all mark sheets and qualification documents as proof.

Minimum Monthly Remuneration

Laboratory Assistant/ Technician/ Project Assistant –

Rs. 20,000/- p. m. (Proj. Asstt.) or Rs. 31,000/- p. m. (Proj. Assoc.). Prevailing norms of funding agency and IISER Bhopal will be followed. HRA as applicable.
