The ICMR-National Institute of Epidemiology (ICMR-NIE) is a permanent premier institute of Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) established on July 2, 1999 by merging the Central JALMA Institute for Leprosy (CJIL Field Unit), Avadi with the Institute for Research in Medical Statistics (IRMS), Chennai. The broad objectives of the Institute cover conducting epidemiological studies, development of human resources in epidemiology and bio-statistics, networking of the various ICMR and non-ICMR Institutes at the national level for epidemiological purposes, and consultancy. The Institute has the distinction of being the WHO Collaborating Centre for Leprosy Research and Epidemiology. The Institute carries out a variety of research activities, which include areas such as interventional studies, health systems research, evaluation of health schemes and disease control programmes, statistical methodology, epidemiological investigations and outbreak science.

Following positions would be filled up purely on temporary contract basis for our ad-hoc research projects through Walk-in Interview/written test, at ICMR-National Institute of Virology, Bangalore Unit. Project Name: “WHO-National Polio Surveillance Programme”& “Congenital Rubella Syndrome Surveillance Project”.

Eligibility
Project Technical Support-II Essential Qualification: 12th in Science + Diploma (MLT/DMLT/ Engineering) + Five years’ Experience in relevant subjects / fields. Desirable: 1.B.Sc./M.Sc. Microbiology / Biotechnology 2. Work experience in diagnostic laboratory/Cell Culture/ ELISA /PCR / sequencing. 3. Knowledge of computer application/report preparation. Project Technical Support –III Essential Qualification: Three Years Graduate in Microbiology / Biotechnology / Virology / Biochemistry + three years’ experience OR PG in Microbiology / Biotechnology / Virology / Biochemistry.
Minimum Monthly Remuneration
For Project Technical Support-II Rs.24,500/- p.m. For Project Technical Support –III Rs.28,000/- + HRA

Selection Procedure: Depending upon the number of candidates, written/skill test will be conducted.
