Centre for High Energy Systems & Sciences (CHESS), Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), Hyderabad invites applications from young and meritorious Indian nationals, who desire to pursue defence related research as Research Associate and Junior Research Fellows. Candidates possessing requisite qualications may apply for Research Associates and Junior Research Fellowships against positions vacant at this Laboratory, in the subject/disciplines as detailed below

Position

  • RA – Research Associate
    • Physics/ Applied Physics/ Applied Optics/Laser Technology, Laser, Adaptive Optics, OptoElectronics /Photonic
    • Physics /Applied Physics/ Applied optics/ Laser technology/Laser / Optoelectronics
  • JRF – Junior Research Fellow
    • Physics/Applied Physics/ Applied Optics/Laser Technology, Laser, Adaptive Optics, OptoElectronics /Photonics
    • Mechanical Engineering

Eligibility

RA – Research Associate Physics/ Applied Physics/ Applied Optics/Laser Technology, Laser, Adaptive Optics, OptoElectronics /Photonic Ph.D or equivalent degree (in Engineering or Science) in the area of Customized Optical System Design/ Atmospheric turbulence correction/ adaptive optics. OR Having 3 years of research, teaching or design and development experience after ME / M.Tech (ECE/EEE/Applied Physics/ Control system) with at least one publication in Science Citation Index (SCI) Journal. Desirable: Experience in adaptive optics / related areas. Note: Candidate with having knowledge in programming language MATLAB, LabVIEW, Python etc. along desired skills will be given preferenc

RA – Research Associate Physics /Applied Physics/ Applied optics/ Laser technology/Laser / Optoelectronics Ph.D or equivalent degree (in Engineering or Science) in areas related to Opto-electronics / Photonics / Optical Design / Optical Instrumentation / Adaptive Optics / Laser / Ultrashort Laser Beam Propagation OR Having 3 years of research, teaching or design and development experience in areas related to Opto-electronics / Photonics / Optical Design / Optical Instrumentation / Adaptive Optics/ Laser / Ultrashort Laser Beam Propagation after ME / M.Tech (ECE/EEE/Laser Technology /Applied Physics/ Applied Optics) with at least one publication in Science Citation Index (SCI) Journal. Desirable: Candidates must have experience in handling & alignment of laser systems, optical instruments, optics, opto-mechanical system etc. Note: Candidate with having knowledge in programing language MATLAB, LabVIEW, Python etc. along desired skills will be given preference

JRF – Junior Research Fellow Physics/Applied Physics/ Applied Optics/Laser Technology, Laser, Adaptive Optics, OptoElectronics /Photonics Post Graduate Degree (in Science) in relevant subject in rst division with NET OR Post Graduate Degree in Professional Course (M.E/ M. Tech in relevant subject with rst division at both Graduate and post Graduate Level)

JRF – Junior Research Fellow Mechanical Engineering Graduate Degree in Professional Course (B.E / B.Tech in rst division with NET/ GATE OR Post Graduate Degree in Professional Course (M.E/M.Tech in rst division at both Graduate and Post Graduate Level

Minimum Monthly Remuneration

  • Stipend (monthly) and tenure (RA): Stipend for RA Rs. 54,000/- per month (HRA as admissible as per rule) for a maximum period of two years only (No extension is in respect of RA).
  • Stipend (monthly) and tenure (JRF): Stipend for JRF Rs. 31,000/- per month (HRA as admissible as per rule) for a maximum period of two years (extendable as per rules for JRF, subject to satisfactory performance to be assessed by a committee).

Candidates should download form from ‘What’s New’ column and ll the Application Form in the prescribed format (available on the website www.drdo.gov.in). The signed Application Form along with certicate in support of minimum educational qualication, matriculation certicate/birth certicate in support of date of birth, GATE/NET Score card (if applicable), valid as on closing date of application, NOC (Wherever applicable) & caste certicate (if applicable) should be scanned in a single PDF le and emailed to hrd@chess.drdo.in and cc to hrd.chess@gov.in before the closing date. The last date for receipt of duly lled application through email shall be 21 days after publication of this advertisement in Employment News/Rozgar Samachar. CHESS, Hyderabad shall not be responsible for non-receipt of application/ incomplete application. Incomplete/partially lled applications are liable to be rejected.

Candidate will have to write to subject in e-mail: “Application for JRF
(subject) or RA (subject) as applicable”
Number of posts may be increase or decrease without prior notice.
No TA/DA will be paid for joining, if selected.
It may be noted that oer of fellowship does not confer on fellows
any right of absorption in DRDO. for RA position, candidate who have submitted thesis may also apply. Such candidate will have to produce Ph.D certicate at the time of interview.
