Central University of Tamil Nadu, Department of Social Work Invites Application for the Post of Field Investigators Recruitment

Government of India founded the Central University of Tamil Nadu, along with eight other Central Universities, through an Act of Parliament in 2009. It is part of the greater role that the Central Government assumed in making higher education accessible to aspirants from the weaker sections of the society. With eight students in M.A. English Studies, the university started functioning from November 2009, at the Collectorate Annexe at Thiruvarur, 60 kilometers to the east of Thanjavur. But today the University sits astride a major tributary of the famous Cauvery river in the heart of the Delta seven kilometers to the north-west of Thiruvarur.

Job Description

Applications are invited for the post of Two Field Investigators in a short-term minor project funded by MGNCRE, Hyderabad in the following project under the supervision of Dr. Chittaranjan Subudhi, Assistant professor, Department of Social Work, Central University of Tamil Nadu, Thiruvarur-610 005, India.

Project Title is “Socio-Economic Status, Livelihood Vulnerability and Adoption Strategies among Marginal Farmers: Empirical Evidence from Thiruvarur District, Tamil Nadu, India”

Position

• Field Investigators – 2 Post

Eligibility

Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science Discipline (Social Work/ Sociology/ Economics/ Developmental Studies/ Disaster Management/allied discipline) with a minimum of 55% marks (as per UGC Guidelines). Preference will be given based on and willingness to travel to the project area (Thiruvarur District).

Minimum Monthly Remuneration

• Field Investigators – Consolidated amount of Rs. 7,000/- per month
