Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi Advertisement for Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in ANRF sponsored project Job Position 2026

Must Read

Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi, is inviting applications for a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position in an Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) sponsored project. This opportunity is ideal for candidates with a strong background in Chemistry, particularly those interested in research on atomically dispersed metals and their applications in catalysis. The project, led by Dr. Kanak Roy aims to develop innovative catalysts for the thermocatalytic hydrogenation of CO2 to green methanol.

Description

The project titled “Development of Atomically Dispersed Metals on Oxide Solid-Solution Catalysts for Thermocatalytic Hydrogenation of CO2 to Green Methanol” involves designing chemical synthetic strategies for preparing atomically dispersed metal catalysts. These catalysts will be tested for their activity and stability in converting CO2 to methanol using a continuous-flow fixed-bed catalytic reactor. Advanced spectroscopic techniques will be employed to study the structure-activity relationships of these catalysts.

Position

  • Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

Eligibility

Candidates must hold an M.Sc. in Chemistry with at least 55% aggregate marks or an equivalent grade. Additionally, they should have qualified UGC/CSIR NET or GATE. Preference will be given to candidates with prior research experience in heterogeneous catalysis and practical experience with XPS, Scanning/Transmission Electron Microscopy.

Minimum Monthly Remuneration

  • 1st and 2nd year: ₹37,000 per month + HRA
  • 3rd year: ₹42,000 per month + HRA
