Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, invites applications for the position of DRDO Faculty/Expert Chair. The details are as follows

DRDO has endowed a full-time resident Faulty/Expert Chair Professorship, which is named “DRDO Chair” at DRDO Industry Academia – Raman Center of Excellence (DIA-RCoE) established by DRDO at IISc Bengaluru, to promote research, development, and academic work in the new and emerging area of High-Temperature Materials. This chair will be awarded to a distinguished academician of the rank of professor, and he/she will be positioned at DIA-RCoE, IISc Bengaluru, to conduct research in various technology areas related to High-Temperature materials as per the technology needs of DRDO and to address other mutually agreed activities relevant to the DRDO. The details are as follows

  • DRDO Faculty/Expert Chair

Eligibility

i. Indian nationals, Non Resident Indians (NRIs) and Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs) working in a reputed foreign institutes / university / industry can apply.
ii. Scientist/Faculty/Experts/R&D Professionals having PhD degree in Mechanical or Material engineering, who has guided PhD students or carried out advanced research in technologies related to defence in the high temperature material area and worked for at least 10 years in preceding 15 years in a leading foreign Academic/Research/ Industrial organization in technologically advanced countries.

Minimum Monthly Remuneration

  • Remuneration (including increments, if any) for the DRDO chair to be decided by the screening committee as per the norm of Institute at the level of Professor (Level 14A with additional incentives)
