The CSIR-National Botanical Research Institute (NBRI) – is amongst one of the constituent research institutes of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), New Delhi. Originally set up as the National Botanic Gardens (NBG) by the State Government of Uttar Pradesh (U.P.), it was taken over by the CSIR in 1953. Though, initially engaged in research in the classical botanical disciplines, the NBG went on laying an increasing emphasis, in keeping with the national needs and priorities in the field of plant sciences, on its applied and developmental research activities. A time came when it was felt that the name NBG no longer projected the correct nature and extent of its aims and objectives, functions and R & D activities. Consequently, the NBG was renamed as the NBRI, i.e., The National Botanical Research Institute in 1978. This name has since correctly reflected the distinctive character and the R & D activities of this applied botanical institution only of its type in the country.

CSIR- National Botanical Research Institute (NBRI), Lucknow is a constituent laboratory of Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR). CSIR-NBRI undertakes basic and applied research in important areas of plant sciences.

Eligibility
Position: Senior Technical Officer
M.Sc. Botany/Chemistry/Microbiology with minimum of 55% marks or B. Pharm a with minimum of 55% marks, and two years working experience in the area of Pharmacognosy/ Chemotaxonomy/ Herbal drug development.
Handling experience of HPLC, HPTLC, UPLC, and GC-MS for bioprospection, Chemotaxonomy and herbal drug development as evident from SCI publications/ patents.
(i) Field collection of medicinal plants, phytochemical analysis using analytical instruments like HPLC, HPTLC, UPLC, and GC-MS and selection of elite germplasm,
(ii) Preparation of extracts, quality control, herbal drug/ product development.
Position: Technical Officer
M. Sc. in Environmental Sciences/ Environmental Studies/ Microbiology/ Environmental Microbiology/ Applied Microbiology with 55% marks or B. Tech. in Environmental Science and Environmental Engineering/ Industrial Microbiology with 55% marks. Two years research experience in handling and performing spectrometry / chromatography / spectroscopy for analytical / bioanalytical work and having SCI publications. Good knowledge of ISO/IEC: 17025 -2017 or GLP practices. Expected to assist in day-to-day analytical works using high-end sophisticated equipments such as ICP-MS, GC, FTIR, IC, etc. To assist in method development, validation of methods, quality control and quality assurance, technical support in chemical and molecular analysis of samples. One position is for bioremediation related works and other is for EIA activities.
Minimum Monthly Remuneration
- Senior Technical Officer Pay level 10 Pay matrix (56100-177500)
- Technical Officer Pay level 07 Pay matrix (44900-142400)
