The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) is a deemeduniversity fully funded by the University Grants Commission, Government of India. Sukoon is a field action project of the School of Human Ecology at the Tata Institute ofSocial Sciences, Mumbai. Sukoon provides psycho-social services to litigants approaching courtsettings for matrimonial disputes and conducts primary research in the area of couple and family well-being. Sukoon counseling centers are currently operational in 6 courts in Mumbai.

Sukoon is inviting applications for the post of Counsellor (part-time). The job profile is as follows:

Position

• Counsellor (part-time)

Eligibility

The candidate should have completed M.A. in Counselling/Clinical Psychology along with a minimum 2 years’ experience of working as a Counsellor. Preference will be given to those candidates who have additional qualifications such as having completed specialized courses in Couples and Family Therapy or demonstrating direct experience of working as a couples/family therapist. Preference will also be given to candidates who have an experience of working in legal settings. The candidate should have proficiency in English, Hindi and Marathi.

Job Responsibilities

1. This position will entail working with individuals and couples who are currently undergoing matrimonial disputes at courts in Mumbai. The Counsellor will provide individual, couples and family counselling and also be responsible for documentation of the work.
2. The counsellor will be required to travel across different courts in Mumbai.
3. The counsellor will be responsible for liaising and conducting workshops with the key stakeholders in the court system.

Duration: The appointment for the post is for 1 year which can be renewed. The counsellor (part-time) will work for 2 full days at the Courts. Additionally, the counsellor may also be required to travel to TISS for meetings and trainings as scheduled.

Minimum Monthly Remuneration

• Remuneration 1,32,000 – 1,56,000 Per Annum
