The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Kolkata is inviting applications for the position of Project Associate in a groundbreaking project at the Centre for Climate and Environmental Studies. The project aims to explore the potential of marine metabolites for therapeutic applications and conduct targeted biodiscovery of marine microbes, focusing on actinomycetes from India’s coastal ocean biotopes. This temporary position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in marine biotechnology and environmental science.

Project Details
Project Title: “Establishment of Nodal Centre for Key Starting materials and intermediates under Therapeutic Chemicals Program”.
Duration: The position will be initially for a period of six months.

Eligibility
Qualifications: Master’s degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences/MVSC or bachelor’s degree in engineering or technology or medicine from a recognized University or equivalent. Experience with conducting field sampling activities in coastal ocean biotopes or biodiscovery of microbes such as from the mangroves would be welcome.
Minimum Monthly Remuneration
- Rs 31,000 + HRA per month
