The Central Government Health Scheme was started in 1954 with the objective of providing comprehensive medical care to the Central Government employees, both serving and pensioners and their dependent family members. The scheme is also providing service to members and former member of parliament, judges of Supreme Court and High Court, freedom fighters, former Governors and former Vice-Presidents of India.Central Government Health Scheme was introduced in Mumbai in the year 1963 with seven dispensaries. Over the years the scheme has expanded considerably and presently there are 26 Dispensaries, 2 Polyclinics, 3 Dental units, 4 Homoeopathic units and 2 Ayurvedic dispensaries. The scheme is extended to cover upto Kandivli on Western side, upto Ambernath on the Central side and upto Belapur on the Harbour line side.

Central Government Health Scheme, CGHS Mumbai Applications are invited from the eligible candidates for appointment of retired Pharmacists(Allopathy & Ayurvedic), retired LDCs and MTS purely on contractual basis, at Central Govt. Health Scheme, Mumbai.

Eligibility
Pharmacist (Allopathic) Eligibility: Candidates Retired from Central /State Government/ Local Govt. Bodies/ Public Sector Undertakings and from Defence Services (Ex-SM).
(i) 12th class pass with science subjects (Physics, Chemistry &
Biology )
(ii) Diploma in Pharmacy from recognized institution and registered
as Pharmacist under the Pharmacy Act, 1948 and
(iii) Two years’ experience as Pharmacist in any recognized Hospital
or Pharmacy after duly registered as Pharmacist under the
Pharmacy Act, 1948 and
OR
(i) Bachelor degree in Pharmacy ( B. Pharm) from a recognized
University; and
(ii) Registered as a Pharmacist under the Pharmacy Act, 1948.
Pharmacist (Ayurvedic) Eligibility: Candidates Retired from Central /State Government/ Local Govt. Bodies/ Public Sector Undertakings and from Defence Services (Ex-SM)

Disqualification: Any candidate against whom disciplinary proceeding / departmental action of any nature has been initiated or is contemplated. Educational Qualifications: Essential 12th class pass from a recognized board.
MTS Eligibility: Candidates Retired from Central /State Government/ Local Govt. Bodies/ Public Sector Undertakings and from Defence Services (Ex-SM). Disqualification: Any candidate against whom disciplinary proceeding /departmental action of any nature has been initiated or is contemplated. Educational Qualifications: Desirable 10th class pass from a recognized board. Desirable First-aid training certificate.
Minimum Monthly Remuneration
- Pharmacist (Allopathic) Rs. 25,500/- or Last pay drawn minus Pension fixed, whichever is less.
- Pharmacist (Ayurvedic) Rs. 25,500/- or Last pay drawn minus Pension fixed, whichever is less.
- LDC Rs. 19,900/- or Last pay drawn minus Pension fixed, whichever is less
- MTS Rs. 18,000/- or Last pay drawn minus Pension fixed, whichever is less

Applications are invited from the eligible candidates for appointment of retired Pharmacists(Allopathy & Ayurvedic), retired LDCs and MTS purely on contractual basis, at Central Govt. Health Scheme, Mumbai. Before applying to this notification, candidates are requested to check the notification carefully. Candidates are also requested to fill the form carefully before submitting.
Procedure for submission of Application:
The application should be written (preferably typed) in Capital letters, either in English or Hindi as per the above proforma accompanied by two passport size photographs along with the copies of the documents duly attested. The list of shortlisted candidates and the date of interview shall be uploaded on the CGHS, Mumbai website cghsmumbai.gov.in. Candidates are requested to visit the website for updates and corrigendum issued from time to time, if any.
