The Department of Microbiology at the Central University of Rajasthan is seeking a Junior Research Fellow to work on a project titled “Development of an Indigenous Engineered Escherichia coli Chassis for High-Yield Production of Electrically Conductive Protein Nanowires for Bioelectronics and Energy Applications.” This project is funded by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) and aims to explore innovative solutions in bioelectronics. The position is temporary and will be co-terminus with the project, initially offered for one year with the possibility of extension based on performance and funding availability.

Project Details

Project Title: “Development of an Indigenous Engineered Escherichia coli Chassis for High-Yield Production of Electrically Conductive Protein Nanowires for Bioelectronics and Energy Applications”.

Duration: Initially for one year, extendable on a yearly basis up to the completion of the project (maximum three years) based on satisfactory performance and the availability of funds as per ANRF norms.

Principle Investigator: Dr. Jayesh M. Sonawane

Eligibility

Candidates must hold a master’s degree (M.Sc.) in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Life Sciences, or a related field, or an MTech. in Biotechnology or a related discipline. A minimum CGPA of 6.5 on a 10-point scale or 60% marks is required. Additionally, candidates must have qualified for the CSIR-JRF, or any other National Eligibility Test recognized by ANRF. Practical experience in molecular biology, microbial genetics, recombinant DNA technology, and related areas is highly desirable. Publications in peer-reviewed international journals will be considered an advantage.

Minimum Monthly Remuneration

  • Rs.37,000/- per month + HRA for the first and second year.
  • Rs.42,000/- per month + HRA for the third Year.
