The Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani, K. K. Birla Goa Campus, is inviting applications for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in the Department of Biological Sciences. This opportunity is part of an Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) funded project focused on “Development of Enhanced Fermentative Enzyme Production through Synthetic Biology for Biorefinery Applications.” This role is ideal for candidates passionate about biotechnology, fermentation technology, and synthetic biology.

Description

The Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position at BITS Pilani, K. K. Birla Goa Campus, offers a unique opportunity to work on a cutting-edge research project funded by the ANRF. The project aims to develop enhanced fermentative enzyme production through synthetic biology, which is crucial for biorefinery applications. The selected candidate will work under the guidance of Dr. Sonal Ayakar, the Principal Investigator, and will be involved in various aspects of biotechnology and fermentation technology research.

Project Details

Project Title: “Development of Enhanced Fermentative Enzyme Production through Synthetic Biology for Biorefinery Applications”.

Duration: 24 months

Eligibility

Candidates must have a Post Graduate Degree in Basic Science (Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, etc.) or a Graduate/Post Graduate Degree in a Professional Course (Engineering and Technology: Biotechnology, Biochemical, Bioprocess, Chemical, Food Technology, Pharmacy, etc.). Selection is through National Eligibility Tests such as CSIR, GATE, or national level examinations conducted by central government departments and their agencies. Desirable skills include knowledge of microbial fermentation, molecular biology techniques, enzyme kinetics, and chromatographic analysis.

Minimum Monthly Remuneration

• ₹37,000 per month plus 20% HRA (as applicable)
