The Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position at IISER Thiruvananthapuram is part of a project titled “Quantifying Himalayan mid-to-lower-crust rheology: Insights from EBSD-derived microstructural constraints.” This project aims to explore the geological intricacies of the Himalayan region, providing valuable insights into its structural and rheological characteristics. The research is supported by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation, ensuring a robust framework for scientific exploration.

Eligibility
Applicants must possess a M.Sc./M.Sc. Tech/MTech degree in Geology, Applied Geology, Geophysics, or an Integrated M.Sc./M.Sc. Tech./MTech. /BS-MS degree in related fields. A minimum CGPA of 6.5 on a 10-point scale or first-class equivalent in the master’s program is required. Priority will be given to candidates with a valid GATE/CSIR-UGC NET (LS) qualification or any National Level Examination. Students from IISERs/IITs/IISc with a CGPA of 8 or above are also eligible.
Minimum Monthly Remuneration
- ₹37,000 per month plus House Rent Allowance (HRA) as per Institute rules.
