Description
The project aims to design and develop Silicon Photonic Chip-based N × N Photonic Switches, which are crucial for the advancement of 6G technology and beyond. The role involves designing integrated Silicon Photonic N × N optical switches, validating their performance through simulations, preparing fabrication-ready layouts, and conducting device and system-level characterization. This project is spearheaded by Prof. Devendra Chack from the Department of Electronics Engineering at IIT(ISM) Dhanbad.

Eligibility
Candidates must have a First Class or First Division with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent CGPA in B. Tech / B.E. or equivalent degree in Electronics, Electronics & Communication, or Electronics & Telecommunication. A desirable qualification includes knowledge of Photonics Integrated Circuits, Silicon Photonics, Communication systems, Microelectronics, Optoelectronics, Nanotechnology, Optical Communication, and VLSI. Proficiency in ANSYS and Lumbrical is also preferred.
Minimum Monthly Remuneration
- 31,000/- in Rs, Scholars who are selected through NET or GATE.
- 25,000/- in Rs, for others who do not fall under (i) above
