The Indian Maritime University (IMU), Chennai Campus, is seeking applications for faculty positions in Marine Engineering and Nautical Science. These roles are offered on a contract basis, initially for six months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and institutional needs. Position
- Faculty (Marine Engineering) – 2 Posts (one for SMET and one for SNS)
- Faculty Nautical Science (Master Mariner) – 4 Posts
Eligibility
Faculty (Marine Engineering): a) Directorate General (Shipping) recognized MEO Class I
b) Sailing experience for a minimum period of six months at Management level within the meaning of STCW convention in force. c) Six months of teaching/training experience in Maritime Training Institute(s) in India. D) VICT / TOTA Course Certificate. E) AECS and TSTA Course Certificate.
Faculty Nautical Science (Master Mariner): a) Director General of Shipping (DGS) recognized Master (Foreign Going) Certificate of Competency: b) Sailing experience for a minimum period of six months at the Management level within the meaning of the STCW Convention in force.
c) Six months of teaching/training experience in Maritime Training Institute(s) in India. d) VICT / TOTA Course Certificate. E) AECS and TSTA Course Certificate
Minimum Monthly Remuneration
- Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
