The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Pune is seeking applications for the role of Junior Research Fellow. This position is part of a project titled “CRISPR-mediated genome editing in potato for earliness in tuberization, stress resilience, and enhanced tuber yield,” funded by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT). The role involves CRISPR-mediated editing of key potato genes, generation of knock-out transgenic potato lines, and phenotypic characterization.

Eligibility
Candidates must have a master’s degree in microbiology, Botany, Life Sciences, or Agricultural Sciences related areas. Alternatively, a B. Tech/BS or equivalent degree in relevant quantitative fields with a valid CSIR-JRF or equivalent scorecard is required. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in plant tissue culture, plant transformation, recombinant DNA tools, and CRISPR-mediated genome editing.
Minimum Monthly Remuneration
- Junior Research Fellow: Rs. 37,000/- plus 27% House Rent Allowance
- Project Associate-II: Rs.33,000/- + 30% House Rent Allowance
