Tata Institute of Social Sciences Invites Walk in Interview for the Position of Research Assistants

The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) was established in 1936 as the Sir Dorabji Tata Graduate School of Social Work. In 1944, it was renamed as the Tata Institute of Social Sciences. The year 1964 was an important landmark in the history of the Institute, when it was declared Deemed to be a University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act (UGC), 1956.

Job Description

Walk-in interviews for Project Position at the TISS Hyderabad off-Campus.

TISS is a centrally funded public university which operates from four campuses located in Mumbai and Tuljapur in Maharashtra, Guwahati and Hyderabad; And has expanded its education, training, research and outreach activities in several other states as well. The project “Comprehensive Survey and Study of ST Community in Telangana State: Mapping of Data and Resources on a Spatial Domain” has been approved for funding under the establishment of SC ST cell by Telangana State Council of Science and Technology (TSCOST), Department of Science and Technology (DST). highly motivated individuals with experience of working on sponsored research projects and skills to handle field survey, quantitative and qualitative data analysis.

Position

• Research Assistants – 2 Position

Eligibility

• Educational qualification: Masters in any Social Science discipline, (with at least one year of work experience in research projects) .
• Have good knowledge about basic statistical techniques and statistical software like STATA/SPSS
• Responsibilities:
• Designing Questionnaire
• Engage/Facilitate data collection through a household survey and Focus Group Discussion.
• Field visits in tribal Areas of Telangana.
• Basic Analysis and tabulation of large survey data
• Identification of key informants from various stakeholders and conduct of qualitative interviews.
• Helping the PI/Co-PI for preparing the initial draft report
• Age limit 25-40
• The candidate should have good written and oral commutation skill in English and oral communication skill in Telugu

Minimum Monthly Remuneration

• Consolidated payment of Rs. 30,000/- per month.
