The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) was established in 1936 as the Sir Dorabji Tata Graduate School of Social Work. In 1944, it was renamed as the Tata Institute of Social Sciences. The year 1964 was an important landmark in the history of the Institute, when it was declared Deemed to be a University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act (UGC), 1956.

Job Description

School of Development Studies, TATA Institute of Social Sciences, MUMBAI Invited Applications for the Following Post of Research Assistants.

Two Research Assistantship will be for 3 months working on the British Academy funded project on “Digitizing the Periphery” Research Assistants (RAs) will work as part of an international research team led Professor Abdul Shaban (co-PI/Collaborator) from TISS, and by Prof. Ayona Datta (PI), in University College London (UCL).

Position

• Research Assistants – 2 Position

Eligibility

• M.A./M. Sc in social science.
• Research experience in urban contexts relevant to the research project (especially in Mumbai Metropolitan Area).
• Experience of using qualitative research methods, including in-depth interviews with stakeholders, archival/document searches, ethnography, discourse analysis
• Experience of and enthusiasm for collaborative and team-based working

Minimum Monthly Remuneration

• Research Assistants – Rs. 40,000/- per Month.
