The Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology, Surat popularly known as National Institute of Technology, Surat, NIT Surat or SVNIT, is an engineering institute of higher education established by the Parliament of India in 1961. This Institute was established in 1961 as one of the RECs for imparting technical education in Civil, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. In the year 1983-84 the Under Graduate programmes in Electronics Engineering was introduced and in the year 1988-89 the UG programmes in Computer Engineering and Production Engineering was started. In the year 1995-96, UG programme in Chemical Engineering was introduced. In exercise of the powers conferred by section 3 of the University Grants Commission (UGC) Act, 1956, the Central Government on the advice of the University Grants Commission, has declared the Sardar Vallabhbhai Regional College of Engineering & Technology (SVREC), Surat to Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology (SVNIT), Surat with status of “Deemed University” with effect from 4th December 2002.

Job Description

Recruitment of Junior Research Fellow on Purely Contract Basis. Applications are invited on prescribed format for the post of Junior Research Fellow for Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, New Delhi sponsored project entitled “Design and Development of Sustainable, Light-Weight, Cost-Effective Biochar-Poly mer based Composites as Electromagnetic Shields for preventing the hazardous EMI Effects in Different Electromagnetic Environments” at the institute on purely contract basis initially for one year and extendible on yearly review-basis up to 3 years or the duration of the project whichever is earlier. Eligibility

Eligibility & experience: • M. E. / M. Tech. (Electronics/ Mechanical/Chemical Engineering /Material Science/ Metallurgy). • GATE qualified.

Desirable: • Ph.D. with thesis relevant to the title of the project. • Experience in Fabrication Characterization, Simulation and Analysis of Thin films. • Experience in the area of composites, biochar characterization.

Remuneration

  • Rs. 31,000/- + HRA@ 16% p.m. (Pre-revised)
