Description

The Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology is inviting applications for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) to work on an innovative IDT-ONGC sponsored research project. The project, titled “Potential of TiO2/ZnO Nanofluid in Oil well Cementing at HPHT Environment for Improved Mechanical Properties,” represents a significant advancement in petroleum engineering technology. This research initiative aims to explore the application of titanium dioxide and zinc oxide nanofluids in high-pressure, high-temperature (HPHT) oil well cementing operations to enhance mechanical properties and overall performance.

The project has been sanctioned for a duration of 1.5 years and offers an excellent opportunity for researchers to work at the forefront of nanotechnology applications in the petroleum industry. Candidates with knowledge of cementation and nanofluids will have a distinct advantage in this role. Eligibility

The essential qualifications for the Junior Research Fellow position are comprehensive and designed to ensure candidates possess the necessary academic background and research aptitude:

Educational Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree or equivalent in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Petrochemical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering with minimum 60% marks from a recognized university
  • OR M.Sc. in Chemistry with minimum 65% marks from a recognized university or equivalent
  • Qualified NET/GATE score of any year is mandatory
Additional Requirements:
  • Knowledge of cementation and nanofluids will be considered an advantage
  • Research aptitude and interest in petroleum engineering applications
  • Relaxation in minimum qualifying percentage of marks and age limit will be as per Government of India guidelines for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/Physically Challenged categories

Minimum Monthly Remuneration

  • Fixed Fellowship Amount: Rs. 37,000/- per month
  • For candidates enrolled in PhD program: INR 37,000/- fellowship
  • Competitive remuneration package for research work
